Progress and Status

The interim committee started its work in the Month of August 2020, and had, as at the time of the commissioning of this website/IT Data Solution, achieved the following milestones, among others:

  1. Registered Thamana Self-Help Group (SHG) Welfare Association;
  2. Recruited close to 150 members and registration is on-going;
  3. Opened a bank account for use by the Association;
  4. Came up with a Constitution, Rules & Regulations (The Welfare Code);
  5. Organized a number of virtual meetings (KIKAOs) to appraise members of the Group’s progress/plans;
  6. Promulgated areas of engagement with other stakeholders, including last-respect insurance cover, alternative medical insurance cover, direct recoveries of dues from pension payments, office-space, custody of official documents, acquisition of KRA-PIN, etc.;
  7. Made proposals for an Annual General Meeting (AGM), in due course, and election of substantive office-bearers;
  8. Applied for KRA PIN online;
  9. Registered a web domain for the welfare (www.thamanawelfare.com);
  10. Collated member data for upload to the web domain / IT system.
